What a Celebration: Ubuntu Connection Ed.2
An evening that made us all breathe deeply – full of emotions and full of depth.
After intense preparation and full of excitement, the moment finally arrived: UBUNTU CONNECTION at the euro-scene Festival Leipzig. Eight incredible artists, whom we curated with much heart and passion, brought the stage to life. It was an evening full of unexpected twists and creative energy, one that once again surprised and connected us all. For the first time, we awarded three distinctions: 'Knowledge' to Anna Castillo, 'Ubuntu' to Lukas Steltner, and 'WAWA ABA' to Blackpearl – for their extraordinary performances, which made the evening even more unforgettable.

An evening that made us all breathe deeply – full of emotions, full of depth. A moment when inner boundaries faded, bridges were built, hands reached out, and eyes met. A space that expanded as we found the courage to share our artistic drive and our resilience. A space where hearts beat in harmony, in sync with each other, the music, and the pulse of the audience.
An evening that honored our differences and celebrated what we share – a night where we felt that we are not alone. Through dance, sound, and unity, a shared experience emerged, a resonance that deeply moved us. A night that felt like a promise, reminding us of the strength we carry within – together, always.
✨ For the first time, we awarded three distinctions to solo artists:
Knowledge – to Anna Castillo for her inspiring performance, rich in wisdom and culture.
Ubuntu – to Lukas Steltner for a performance that embodied unity and connection, bringing us closer together as an audience.
WAWA ABA – to Blackpearl for her courageous performance, showing us that true strength lies in vulnerability. Her presence was a symbol of resilience, reminding us of the power of authenticity and self-expression.
With deep gratitude for this night, in which we, as the Somogo Collective, brought the spirit of Ubuntu to life: “I am because of you.” Thanks to the incredible audience who shared this space with us, and to Sonic Interventions for their musical energy throughout the evening.
A special thank you to the amazing artists who made this evening unforgettable: Anna Castillo, Anna Shvedkova, Alessandro Ottaviani, Blackpearl, Candyman, Exocé, Lukas Steltner, and Monica Barbotte. And to the jury: Gifty Lartey, Raha Nejad, and Niels “Storm” Robitzky for their inspiring insights.
Our thanks also go to the dedicated team at euro-scene Leipzig, the technical team, the props team, and the reception team at Schauspiel Leipzig – thank you for making this evening possible and bringing us all together.
